Umeed wins Award

15th March 2011 was a Red Letter Day in the history of Umeed, where Umeed was awarded the Amodini award sponsored by Godfrey Phillips in a special function at the Hotel Taj in Chandigarh.

This zonal award for Womens’ Empowerment was for the States of Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh where only Umeed was adjudged the winner in bringing about Womens’ empowerment in District Sangrur and parts of the adjoining districts in Punjab. This indeed was a recognition of Umeed’s selfless service to empower the underprivileged women in the State.
