Umeed the NGO

NGO - Umeed

Umeed the NGO was a vision of its Chairman, Arvind Khanna, who founded it to make a difference to the less privileged in Sangrur District and aimed at providing primary healthcare and women' empowerment. Umeed was registered in March 1997 and the same year the dream became a reality. Umeed the NGO started with a dedicated team and four mobile dispensaries that covered about 20 villages.

Thereafter, a scheme for gynaecological camps covering over 100 villages was initiated that received a tremendous response from the rural people With time, Umeed has become a lifeline and a ray of hope for the rural underprivileged who are bereft of the state’s benefits.

Today the Foundation boasts of covering over 550 villages through its various healthcare and social empowerment programs.
