In June 2011,  Umeed/AR Job Placement was opened in partnership with AR Job Placement Service to provide employment to youth in Sangrur and its adjoining districts. Under this venture, any individual can register his/her name with the placement cell without any fee. Umeed helps them get jobs based on their qualifications/skills. Till date, 7,000 youths have registered with the agency and 900 have got jobs in various organisations.

Success Stories :

Aswinder Singh, son of Gurbhachan Singh, is a resident of Sangrur. He was always being interested body building and was looking for a job that suited his passion. He registered himself with Umeed/AR Jobs and got a job at FX Gym as a manager. He earns Rs 8,000 a month and is thankful to Umeed for ensuring that youth of Sangrur don’t have to leave their hometown in search of employment.

Umeed BPO :

In January 2011, Umeed opened a BPO in Sangur to ensure that educated youth are not forced to leave Sangrur district in search of jobs in cities. The BPO currently employs 18 people.

A 50-seater BPO centre is scheduled to open Dhuri by Dec 2012.

Umeed is also exploring the possibility of providing basic computer literacy, lingual skills and personality development workshops to young job aspirants.
